NGC 6997 + NGC 7000

A battle with the Moon!

I am both surprised I got a reasonable image at the end and a little frustrated but that's how it goes. Due to the bright moon last night I had to chuck out 43 5min subs, totalling 3.5 hours of data. The image below was salvaged from just 6 x 5min exposures. So lost some fine details but at least it isn't a total loss.

This is NCG 6997 (An open star cluster) and part of NCG 7000 which is a large nebulous cloud in the constellation of Cygnus. It's estimated to be around 2,200 lightyears from earth.

I'll certainly be revisiting this sometime (Without the moons annoying light polluting company!)
