Improving - the last few months.

5 Images in this post.

Well the last few months have been somewhat rubbish for weather so not had many chances to get out and take picture, but below are the ones I have taken in the last two to three months. With the exception of NGC7822 which I selected by mistake so had all the wrong exposure times, most of these images I am really happy with and noticed a big jump in the quality of the final images.

Sadr Region.

2nd August 2020

The colour is somewhat off, it's a bit too red and flat feeling but I am happy with the increase in the detail vs lower noise I managed to capture. (But before I understood better how to take LRGB)

NGC 7380 - The Wizard Nebula.

22nd September 2020

Perhaps a little small for my 440mm focal length but still quite happy. Loads of stars for sure. plan to retake this with my new ED127

NGC 7822 - An interesting mistake.

25th September 2020

I was planning on capturing something else so I had my exposure times set much lower than this target really needed. I am pleased with this image in the respect of the increased detail compared to most previous images, however you can clearly see a lot of noise in this image. One to revisit.

SH2-155 - The Cave Nebula

8th November 2020

Pretty happy with this although some discolouration on the right, possibly due to excessive moonlight when I shot this. again plan to revisit.

NGC 6997 + NGC 7000

28th November 2020

This one I was both frustrated with and happy with. Frustrated because the moon and clouds decided to ruin most of the light frames, I had captured 49 x 5 minute sub exposures, only to find 43 of them were pretty much useless. The image below is salvaged from a mere 6 x 5 minute subs, totally 35 minutes integration time. Definitely a revisit due.
